In Australia, adenomyosis is a common condition, affecting nearly one in five women. As a condition that affects so many women, it’s important to seek out quality care and understanding to address the unique challenges and concerns thrown your way.
At Grace Private, we understand that caring for adenomyosis requires more than just medical expertise, it’s essential to provide compassion, empowerment and personalised treatment. Holistic care from a highly-experienced gynaecologist is vital to help you navigate the complexities of this condition with confidence.
Adenomyosis is a gynaecological condition where endometrial tissue (which normally lines the inside of the uterus) grows within the muscular wall of the uterus (myometrium). This causes the uterus to become enlarged and sore, resulting in painful and heavy periods. It can often coexist with endometriosis and can also lead to chronic pelvic pain. It can develop whether you have had children or not and is most commonly diagnosed by a pelvic ultrasound scan.
