  • Latest COVID-19 Restrictions & Patient Information

As always, the health and safety of our Grace patients and families, staff, health practitioners and specialists is our top priority.

To this end and to comply with the Queensland Public Health Directive, there have been a few changes to minimise any potential exposure to COVID-19 for our Grace community. Gold Coast Private Hospital (GCPH) has also introduced new testing and visitor arrangements to help keep us all safe. These changes are outlined below.

Patients attending appointments at Grace Private

  • Appointments in our rooms are continuing for all patients (vaccinated and unvaccinated) with telehealth available if preferred and possible.
  • If you are unwell, please advise our rooms and your appointment will be rescheduled or changed to a Telehealth appointment.
  • For the health and safety of all, additional family members or friends beyond one vaccinated support partner are not permitted in our rooms. Unvaccinated support partners also are not permitted in our practice. Where appropriate, our specialists and staff are happy to accommodate ‘Facetime visits’ for unvaccinated support partners or family members who cannot attend an appointment.
  • Everyone attending Grace is required to wear a mask at all times, check-in on arrival using the Qld Check-in app and advise our reception team of their vaccination status.
  • Some of our ultrasound appointments have been limited to minimise any potential exposure for patients and staff. If your appointment is shorter than previously experienced, please be assured there will be enough time for our tertiary trained sonographers to complete a detailed assessment of your baby which will be reviewed by our Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist, Dr Adriana Olog.

Maternity ward admissions for obstetric patients

Gold Coast Private Hospital (GCPH) has advised that all vaccinated and unvaccinated obstetric patients and their partners are required to do a Rapid Antigen Test on admission to the maternity ward. GCPH can provide you with a RAT for $15 each or you can bring your own, to be conducted at the time of admission (not prior).

Elective surgeries

At this stage, all elective surgery for Grace patients is continuing as planned. GCPH has advised that a Rapid Antigen Test is required on admission for patients who are unvaccinated or showing symptoms. GCPH can provide you with a Rapid Antigen Test for $15 each or you can bring your own, to be conducted at the time of admission (not prior). Vaccinated patients (excluding obstetric patients) do not require a RAT test for admission for elective surgeries.

Visitors to Gold Coast Private Hospital

GCPH has advised that no visitors are permitted into the hospital, irrespective of their vaccination status, unless under exceptional circumstances:

  • The parents, guardians or carers for a patient under the age of 18 (if unvaccinated a negative RAT is required)
  • Providing end-of-life support
  • A partner and /or support person/s for a patient admitted for care related to their pregnancy (if unvaccinated a negative RAT is required)

See the Gold Coast Private Hospital visitor page for more details.
