At Grace Private, we’re here to support women at every stage of their health journey. Every woman deserves to feel confident, cared for and heard – and we’re here to offer our professional support to help you feel confident in every decision you make.

As we continue to grow the care and support we offer, we’re excited to welcome Shannon Preston to the Grace Team. Shannon is a highly experienced and qualified Endorsed Midwife and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with more than 10 years of experience and a deep passion for women’s health.

Meet Shannon Preston

Shannon is a passionate advocate for women, babies, and families. She is an endorsed midwife and lactation consultant, with a Bachelor of Midwifery, and a Master’s in Women’s Health Medicine. She’s a mother of four, and knows firsthand the emotional highs and challenges that come with pregnancy, birth and those first weeks at home with a newborn. This journey into motherhood has shaped her approach to care.

Shannon empowers women with her extensive knowledge, helping them through the unknown, and holding space for all the messy, beautiful, and sometimes overwhelming parts of becoming a mum. We’re incredibly proud to have Shannon as part of our team of strong and supportive women helping women.

Lactation support

While breastfeeding is often portrayed as the most “natural” thing in the world, it doesn’t come naturally for every mother or baby. Many new mums find breastfeeding challenging in the early weeks, experiencing latching issues, pain to supply as well as the emotional toll of sleep deprivation and feeding anxiety.

As an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, Shannon has completed advanced clinical training in breastfeeding support and is up to date with the latest research and best practices. She has a calm, non-judgemental approach; creating a safe space for mothers to talk openly about their challenges with breastfeeding.

Some of the common concerns Shannon can help with include:

  • Difficulty with latching or positioning
  • Painful or damaged nipples
  • Low milk supply or oversupply
  • Managing mastitis or inflammation
  • Nipple shield use or expressing concerns
  • Combination feeding, bottle refusal, or returning to work
  • Tongue or lip tie concerns
  • Feeding premature or unwell babies
  • Weaning or transitioning feeding plans

Shannon offers personalised, one-on-one consultations that are available both antenatally and postnatally, and no referral is required.
