Dr Tellam is passionate about managing women with medical conditions in pregnancy. An experienced specialist, she has a particular interest in preconception care, diabetes in pregnancy and adult endocrine conditions including diabetes, thyroid, pituitary, adrenal and calcium disorders.
Dr Tellam completed medical school at the University of Queensland in 2012. She trained largely in Brisbane at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where she completed dual specialist training in Endocrinology and Obstetric Medicine and was awarded Registrar of the Year. She also achieved a Staff Recognition Award in 2017 during her year at Toowoomba Base Hospital.
Heavily involved in teaching, Dr Tellam is an examiner for the University of Queensland Medical School and was awarded UQ Toowoomba Rural Clinical School Best Female Registrar Teacher in 2017.
Dr Tellam is a published author in Medical journals and co-authored a chapter in an international medical textbook (Global Library of Women’s Medicine). She has presented at multiple annual scientific meetings since 2016, including the Endocrine Society of Australia, Australasian Diabetes Congress and Society for Obstetric Medicine Australia and New Zealand. She is currently completing a Master’s Degree at Griffith University looking at ketones in pregnancy.
An avid hiker and mountain bike rider, Dr Tellam moved to the Gold Coast and joined the Grace Private team of women’s health specialists in 2020.
