A highly experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Dr Genevieve Bishop is passionate about empowering women throughout their healthcare journey.
Dedicated to excellence in care, Dr Bishop adopts a multidisciplinary approach to ensuring optimal results and individualised care for every patient. She understands that childbirth and women’s health is not only about delivery babies and providing care, but helping women be informed, trust themselves, have a voice and believe in their inner strength.
Dr Bishop specialises in family planning, antenatal and obstetric care for high and low risk pregnancies and offers water birthing as a delivery option for antenatal patients
As a Gynaecologist, Dr Bishop has a special interest in urinary incontinence and prolapse and offers onsite Urodynamics testing and consultations.
Dr Bishop also offers management for Cervical abnormalities, Endometriosis, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), menorrhagia, pelvic inflammatory disease, fibroids, ovarian cysts, vaginal prolapse, menopause and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr Bishop studied at Sydney University attaining a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. During her training she also attained a Masters in Public Health from the University of NSW.
Dr Bishop trained in obstetrics and general gynaecology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney and then pursued her interest in uro-gynaecology and incontinence at St George Hospital, working in the internationally renowned Pelvic Floor Unit.
Following five years in private practice at John Flynn Private Hospital, Dr Bishop relocated to Gold Coast Private Hospital in 2021 and joined the Grace Private team as a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist in August that year.
